ALT (The Alcohol Alternative Program) is a Velvet Rabbit initiative that helps businesses better support guests who aren’t drinking—whether they’re sober, sober-curious, or just taking a night off.
We’re not here to tell you how to run your business.
We’re here to offer education, visibility, and support so you can create a space where more people feel comfortable walking through your doors.

Some just don’t feel like explaining their drink choice.
When people feel comfortable ordering something non-alcoholic without pressure or attention, it changes their entire experience.

We always encourage having more than one option, so guests have a real choice - not just a default

ALT is part of Velvet Rabbit, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Akron, Ohio focused on building community and connection for people in recovery and beyond.
We believe people shouldn’t have to choose between their social life and their well-being.
